Aerolíneas Argentinas is set to operate another flight to Doha on Tuesday, carrying fans to see Argentina take on the Netherlands in the Quarter Final of the men’s FIFA World Cup. The match will take place on Friday, following the team’s triumph over Australia in the previous round.

Flight AR1918 will depart from Buenos Aires Ministro Pistarini International Airport (EZE) on December 6th at 08:20, and will arrive at Rome Fiumicino International Airport (FCO) at 01:35 (+1 day). The aircraft will then refuel, before departing for Doha’s Hamad International Airport (DOH) at 03:05, and eventually touching down in the Qatari capital at 10:30 on Wednesday morning.

Shortly after it was confirmed that Argentina would face the Netherlands in Friday’s match, Aerolíneas Argentinas put tickets for the flight up for sale on its website, with special promotional fares available for fans. The airline’s president, Pablo Ceriani, hailed the news of the flight to Doha, saying,

“We are pleased to be accompanying our national team as digital sponsor, and these flights that we are operating will help to make the Aerolíneas Argentinas brand more visible around the world.”

The airline has been keen to support the national team on its Twitter feed, with this video showcasing their partnership:

Aerolíneas Argentinas and the Airbus A330

Tuesday’s flight will be operated by the Airbus A330-200 aircraft, of which Aerolíneas Argentinas currently has eight in its fleet. Each of the airline’s Airbus A330-200s seats a total of 272 passengers in a two-class configuration – 24 in business class and 248 in economy class.

It is not yet known which of the carrier’s Airbus A330-200s will operate the flight, but it could be LV-FVH, which sports a special livery celebrating the airline’s partnership with the national team. It features the words “un equipo, un país, un sueño” (translated as “one team, one country, one dream”).

Connecting Argentina to Qatar

Neither Aerolíneas Argentinas nor Qatar Airways currently operates regular scheduled flights on the 8,268 mile (13,306 km) route between Buenos Aires and Doha. However, thanks to its new codeshare agreement with Iberia, Qatar Airways offers tickets between the two cities, funneling passengers through the Spanish carrier’s hubs in Madrid (MAD) or Barcelona (BCN).
