Air Corsica will launch flights to Zurich starting this summer in partnership with airline representative company TAL Aviation. The carrier will launch its weekly Ajaccio-Zurich service in July, increasing to twice-weekly over August.

Ajaccio-Zurich coming this summer

Starting in July, Air Corsica will offer direct flights between Ajaccio and Zurich. The service will initially operate on Saturdays throughout July, before also flying on Tuesdays through August.

From July 2nd to August 30th:

  • (XK719) - Zurich (ZRH) to Ajaccio (AJA) - Saturdays - departs 14:10, arrives 15:20.
  • (XK718) - Ajaccio (AJA) to Zurich (ZRH) - Saturdays - departs 11:45, arrives 13:05.

From August 6th to August 27th:

  • (XK719) - Zurich (ZRH) to Ajaccio (AJA) - Saturdays - departs 13:45, arrives 14:55.
  • (XK718) - Ajaccio (AJA) to Zurich (ZRH) - Saturdays - departs 10:45, arrives 12:05.

Flights will be served by Air Corsica's Airbus A320 fleet, which offers 180 seats in a one-class configuration. The carrier will offer some 5,000 seats between Ajaccio and Zurich over Summer 2022.

Nissim Sagis, TAL Aviation's Chief Commercial Officer, said,

"With travel restrictions gradually being lifted, we look forward to working with our new partner, and offering the Swiss market the beauties of Corsica, as a main destination for the summer holiday-makers."

Passengers onboard will be served a small snack along with other offerings, such as coffee, tea, hot chocolate and soft drinks, free of charge.

Air Corsica now operates 12 international routes together with other domestic and charter services. Other international destinations in its summer schedule include Brussels, London, Vienna, Salzburg, Rome and Gothenburg.

Airline representative TAL Aviation has been appointed as Air Corsica's General Sales Agent (GSA) in Zurich. According to the airline, "TAL Aviation will be the point of contact for its local travel industry, providing marketing services for the airline."

TAL Aviation is active in over 50 countries across Europe, Asia, the Pacific and the Americas, working with over 30 international airlines and cargo carriers.

The Air Corsica fleet

Air Corsica operates with a small fleet of six Airbus A320s, five ATR 72s and one ATR 42. Four of its A320 are older A320-200s with an average age of over 15 years, while two are A320neos less than three years old.

The airline took delivery of its new A320neos in 2019, with both jets acquired on lease from ICBC. Air Corsica's A320neos are in a one-class 3-3 configuration offering a total of 186 seats. It's unclear whether the A320neos will be deployed on this Zurich route.
