Travelers from Riga, Tallinn, and Vilnius are set for 18 new destinations for their 2023 summer season, thanks to airBaltic's latest statement. This marks the largest announcement of new routes ever seen from the Baltic carrier.

Largest number of routes ever announced by the Baltic carrier

Overall, the carrier will offer almost 70 destinations, predominantly from Riga Airport, with 10 destinations on offer from neighboring airports, Tallinn, Estonia, and Vilnius, Lithuania.

Travelers excited about the flurry of new destinations will continue to travel in comfort with airBaltic. Thanks to the company's state of the art Airbus A220-300, of which they have 34 in their fleet, being the only aircraft type for the carrier. The aircraft carries 145 passengers in a 3-2 configuration.

airBaltic's summer schedule, commencing on April 2, will now include these destinations:

From Riga (RIX)

  • Istanbul (IST) - 4 x flights weekly commencing April 2
  • Hanover (HAJ) - 2 x flights weekly commencing April 15
  • Bucharest (OTP) - 3 x flights weekly commencing May 1
  • Porto (OPO) - 2 x flights weekly commencing May 1
  • Burgas (BOJ) - 2 x flights weekly commencing May 2
  • Bilbao (BIO) - 2 x flights weekly commencing May 4
  • Tivat (TIV) - 2 x flights weekly commencing May 4
  • Yerevan (EVN) - 2 x flights weekly commencing May 16
  • Belgrade (BEG) - 2 x flights weekly commencing May 16
  • Baku (GYD) - 2 x flights weekly commencing May 17

From Tallinn (TLL)

  • Rhodes (RHO) - 2 x flights weekly commencing May 1
  • Split (SPU) - 2 x flights weekly commencing May 1
  • Dubrovnik (DBV) - 2 x flights weekly commencing May 2
  • Heraklion (HER) - 2 x flights weekly commencing May 3

From Vilnius (VNO)

  • Malaga (AGP) - 2 x flights weekly commencing May 2
  • Palma de Mallorca (PMO) - 2 x flights weekly commencing May 2
  • Nice (NCE) - 2 x flights weekly commencing May 3
  • Heraklion (HER) - 2 x flights weekly commencing May 4

Not the First Time

Not all of these destinations are new for the carrier, with airBaltic operating in the past:

  • Riga to Belgrade - last served in 2011
  • Riga to Bucharest - last served in September 2015
  • Riga to Baku - last served in October 2019
  • Riga to Burgas - last served in September 2016
  • Riga to Istanbul - last served in March 2013

airBaltic's Winter Schedule

It's been a busy few months for the airline, given that only two months ago, the airline announced its winter schedule, offering over 50 destinations in its network, including the airline's first foray into the African market, to Marrakech, Morocco commencing October 31, and Gran Canaria commencing November 1. It will also provide additional support to other airlines this winter.

A Tampere, Finland to Amsterdam, Netherlands route will also commence on October 31.
