Airbus’ business jet division has announced the delivery of a brand-new ACJ319neo to a new customer in western Europe. A statement from the manufacturer says the aircraft, to be managed by Jet Aviation, will be available for charter flights soon. Let’s take a closer look.

President of Airbus Corporate Jets, Benoit Defforge, said,

“This demonstrates the value of the ACJ319neo for the business aviation market! The aircraft’s latest technology engines and Sharklets enable even longer intercontinental flights* in the widest single aisle cabin in the sky, while delivering at least 20 per cent fuel-saving and excellent economics combined with a robust 99.9 % operational reliability.”

*In 2019 the first green ACJ319neo successfully completed a 16 hrs. and 10 min test-flight, setting a new record for the longest A320 Family flight by an Airbus crew.

Aircraft to be managed by Jet Aviation

Airbus has kept the owner’s identity a secret but has said that the ACJ319neo in question will be managed by Jet Aviation, a maintenance, management, and end-to-end flight charter company. Additionally, Airbus also added that this airframe is powered by two engines CFM LEAP-1A (the ACJ319neo is also available with Pratt & Whitney 1100G engines).

Simple Flying has written to Airbus and Jet Aviation seeking more details about the airframe. This article will be updated when a response is received.

In the meantime, we did some digging and found an airframe that checks all boxes. Data from planespotters.net shows MSN 10897 as a recently delivered ACJ319neo aircraft. That particular airframe bears the registration 9H-NTA. Also, Simple Flying reported on an ACJ319neo order last year placed by an undisclosed customer. There is a good chance 9H-NTA is that very plane.

It is important to note that due to the lack of official information regarding the specific details of the airframe, the above details are merely speculation at this point.

An odd feeling: Luxury on a narrowbody

For most of us, spending more than a couple of hours on any narrowbody aircraft like the Airbus A319 translates to cramped seats, limited legroom, and general discomfort. However, that isn’t the case with any product from Airbus Corporate Jets (ACJ). The ACJ319neo is Intercontinental travel in style with plush materials, plenty of real estate to stretch one’s legs, and ample luggage space.

A little over a year ago, Simple Flying wrote about the levels of uniqueness ACJ customers can achieve with their aircraft. An ACJ319neo interior outfitted with exotic materials like CarboTitanium from Italian supercar manufacturer Pagani Automobili was showcased by the manufacturer last year.

Sandwiched between the ACJ Two Twenty and the ACJ350, the ACJ319neo hits the sweet spot in terms of size, and much more. The improved design of the plane can stay airborne for over 16 hours, making transcontinental journeys a breeze. Airbus says it can carry up to eight passengers in royalty and cover up to 6,750 NM in one go.
