The airport has come storming back after the pandemic, with a record number of passengers served in 2022. Over the summer, more passengers passed through the airport than ever before, with July seeing 4.86 million flyers, up from the previous record of 4.68 million. For many months of 2022, Las Vegas was the most recovered airport in the world, according to OAG, picking up 20% or more additional seats flown compared with 2019.

As we move into 2023, the airport is off to a flying start, seeing an impressive 4.39 million passengers passing through the terminal in January. Even now, the airport is performing incredibly well on its recovery trajectory, adding 19.8% more seats in February than it had in 2019. That places it second in the most recovered airports of the world, behind only Denver International in terms of capacity added.

Rosemary Vassiliadis, Clark County Director of Aviation, commented to Simple Flying,

"2022 was a record year for air travel in Las Vegas, as Harry Reid International Airport served 52.6 million passengers. That we were the fastest recovered airport in North America shows the demand for Las Vegas remains as strong as ever. Our destination continues to evolve into the sports and entertainment capital of the world, and we are looking forward to the special events our community will host for the first time, highlighted by Formula 1’s Las Vegas Grand Prix."

Clearly, the airport has ambitions to continue its rapid recovery and growth, and has a lot to look forward to in the coming year. Here's what you need to know about Las Vegas Harry Reid Airport, our third Airport of the Month.
