Alitalia offers four classes with increasing levels of comfort and service. You can opt for economy, premium economy, Business Class Medium Haul, or the top tier Magnifica Class. Here’s what the various grades have to offer.

Economy

In economy class, you’ll have a standard seat in the economy cabin. On long-haul flights, you’ll be offered an extensive range of films, TV programs, music, and games via a 6.5-inch screen on Boeing 777 aircraft or a 9-inch screen on the Airbus A330 fleet. The A330 also allows you to follow take-off and landing with its landscape camera.

You can stay connected by logging on to the Alitalia WiFi network and buying one of the tariff packages. Once permitted, you can also use international roaming on your mobile phone to make calls, send texts, or surf the internet according to your agreed roaming and data allowance agreed with your supplier.

Premium Economy

For long-haul flights, when booking premium economy, you get a baggage allowance of two bags weighing up to 23kg, and you can take advantage of dedicated check-in desks and priority boarding.

Onboard, you’ll be seated in a separate quiet cabin section with ergonomic seats with up to 40% more legroom and around 120-degree reclining. For your entertainment options, the Boeing 777 has a 10.4-inch personal screen, while the A330 features a 10.6-inch screen. You’ll also receive a voucher for 10MB of free WiFi.

Alitalia provides you with a night kit that offers a toothbrush and toothpaste, cotton socks and a sleeping mask, a foldable comb/brush, and Diesel cosmetics, including a hydrating facial mist and lip balm.

Business Class Medium Haul

Business Class Medium Haul passengers have a baggage allowance of two bags of up to 32 kg and dedicated check-in desks. Under normal circumstances, you would have access to Casa Alitalia and SkyTeam lounges, but, at the time of writing, all Casa Alitalia lounges are temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 situation.

Aboard the aircraft, you can enjoy spacious leather Recaro seats with just four seats per row. Embraer aircraft also offer business class passengers C&D seats.

Magnifica

When traveling in Magnifica Class, you get privileged treatment at the airport with priority check-in, security lanes, and boarding gates. As with business class, you would normally be able to use the Casa Alitalia lounges, but they are currently closed.

Your preferred leather seat reclines to a fully horizontal bed position and features a massage function. The cabin has a relaxing lighting system that varies in color and intensity. You’ll have either a 15-inch or 15.4-inch personal screen. Magnifica passengers get up to 50MB of free onboard WiFi.

Onboard Dining

The meal choices offered on the aircraft may currently be different from those usually available. Alitalia says,

“Due to the current COVID-19 emergency, our in-flight service will be carried out in ways to reduce contact and guarantee safe passage and stationing of the flight crew throughout the cabin. Food and drink will be supplied in single sealed portions, adhering to the highest hygiene standards.”

On long-haul flights, medical-dietary meals (gluten-free, diabetic) and religious meals (kosher, Muslim) remain available. On medium-haul flights, special meals are temporarily unavailable, except for flights between Rome and Tel Aviv, where Kosher meals will be offered.
