US carrier Allegiant Air is debuting a special livery to celebrate Electric Daisy Carnival. The low-cost carrier is painting one of its Airbus jets with a vibrant, Insomniac-themed livery designed for fans of Electronic Dance Music and bright colors.

The new livery is pained across the fuselage and back of one of the carrier's Airbus A320 aircraft to create a "festive vibe" in honor of the world's largest dance music festival, Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC), which is happening this weekend in Las Vegas.

Why Electic Daisy Carnival?

The Las Vegas-based carrier's representatives noted that concerts and festivals contribute to its customers' leisure travel planning. This year, Allegiant Air partnered with Live Nation and EDC-creators Insomniac to incorporate the festival's signature brand elements into the stunning design.

This new design adds pink, purple, and orange hues to Allegiant's flowing ribbon design, which wraps around the fuselage and culminates in the signature sunburst tail. Insomniac and EDC branding is emblazoned on the sides of the aircraft, and the engines feature a bright Insomniac logo. Scott DeAngelo, Allegiant's Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, said the new livery symbolizes the incredible power of the music's fan base:

"We are thrilled to announce this special livery, perfectly timed as fans fly to Las Vegas this week for the Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) festival. Most of our customers say they specifically travel for live music concerts or festivals, so this partnership is a natural fit because it enables us to weave the Allegiant brand into the fabric of leisure travel experiences.

"In order to become the most influential and forward-thinking leisure airline, Allegiant partners with prestigious, successful brands with national reach. Live Nation – a world-class leader in live events and entertainment – is key among these strategic partnerships."

The design, which celebrates empowering the airline's customers to "truly live the Nonstop Life," comes as demand for live events is at an all-time high. Event creator Insomniac celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. The company now produces over 10,000 concerts, club nights, and festivals for seven million attendees each year across the globe. Its flagship event, Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas, is the world's largest dance music festival and draws over 525,000 fans to Las Vegas over three days each May.

Flying in style

The Airbus A320-200 took its first flight on May 3rd, 2006. It was delivered to Virgin America that same month and was absorbed into the Alaska Airlines fleet in 2018. In August, Allegiant Air acquired the aircraft from Alaska Airlines and continued operating it under its original registration of N364VA for several more months. The narrowbody was eventually registered to its current N198NV on February 1st of this year.

The Insomniac-themed livery will continue to fly Allegiant customers across the nation even after the festival has concluded. Allegiant Air added eight new routes across its network for this summer. Four of the routes are seasonal, and the other half will operate year-route to primarily regional destinations.

This is not the first special livery the airline has debuted this year. In March, Allegiant Air revealed a special livery dedicated to its staff. The other Airbus A320 (N197NV) is one of only six aircraft in the airline's fleet to feature a special livery.
