American Airlines is the world's largest carrier. This winter, it has 720,000 flights planned, according to the latest OAG data. That's a fifth more than Delta, a third more than United, and three times as many as ULCCs Spirit, Frontier, and Allegiant combined. American has up to 5,200 winter flights daily.
American serves 340 airports
Across its whole network, 340 airports globally will welcome American flights this winter. Some 222 are domestic. Analyzing its network reveals that it serves 49 states, plus DC, a federal district. It has no Delaware flights. Hardly surprisingly, Texas is American's top state, with about a fifth of flights, followed by North Carolina, Florida, Illinois, and New York.
As it's the off-season, it shouldn't be too surprising that Anchorage has the fewest flights of its 222 US airports, There's one route to Dallas Fort Worth, served by A321neos, although it ends for the season on January 2nd, shortly after holiday period. However, if seats for sale were considered instead, Marquette, in Upper Peninsula Michigan, would be the least served.
There are also 118 international airports. Toronto has more flights than any other foreign airport, with routes from Boston, Charlotte, Chicago O'Hare, Dallas Fort Worth, Miami, New York JFK, New York LaGuardia, Philadelphia, and Washington Reagan. American is firmly the top US airline in Toronto.

American's top 10 airports
The airports listed below have 420,600 flights by the oneworld carrier, meaning almost six in every ten services touch them. The enormity of American's Dallas Fort Worth network is notable. Very few other carriers serve so many places from their busiest hub. For example, Delta has 203 winter routes from Atlanta, and United has 185 from its current busiest, Chicago O'Hare. Internationally, one of the few to exceed it is Turkish Airlines from Istanbul Airport with 271.

American's top 10 routes
OAG reveals that Dallas Fort Worth-Austin is the route with the greatest number of flights. While it varies widely per day, it has up to 15 daily. Purely for context, in the first three months of 2022 (the latest available to me, but unrelated to winter 2022), US Department of Transportation data shows that 88% of Austin-Dallas Fort Worth transited American's busiest hub; hardly surprising when it's about a three-hour drive.
