With all this traffic, it’s no wonder that Charlotte Douglas might be getting its own Centurion Lounge, admittedly one of the best perks that you get as an American Express cardholder (learn more).

According to a City of Charlotte meeting agenda for Monday, Nov. 26, the city is considering approving an American Express lease, which would put a new lounge in the airport sometime next year. Currently, the airport is working on an East Terminal expansion, to open in the summer of next year, which would put the American Express lounge opening in the fall.

The lounge would be about 13,295 square feet on an upper level, located between Concourse D and Concourse E. The lease includes a one-time payment of $5 million and a minimum of $3 million of on-property advertising expenditures over 10 years. The annual rent is $525,701 with a 10-year lease value of $10.5 million.

Currently, American Express has Centurion Lounges in Dallas, Houston, Las Vegas, Miami, New York (LGA), Philadelphia, San Francisco and Seattle. Centurion Lounges are also in the works at Los Angeles, New York (JFK) and Denver.
