Japan's All Nippon Airways (ANA) has announced that it will soon reveal its third Demon Slayer livery, with the aircraft operating under the new livery on October 3rd. The aircraft being repainted is a Boeing 777 registered JA745A, and ANA will offer specialty items inspired by the anime on the plane. The airline has chosen to sport characters from the popular anime to show its pride in its home nation, which boasts a rich pop culture while encouraging a unique travel experience.

Pop culture livery

The new livery will showcase three characters from the Japanese anime 'Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.' The three characters include the main character Tanjiro and two fan favorites, Rengoku and Tengen. ANA expects the livery to be completed later this month. In addition to a new paint job, passengers on the aircraft will notice several unique offerings.

The flight attendants will wear aprons inspired by another fan-favorite character Kocho Shinobu. Each seat will be fitted with a headrest cover featuring an image of Tanjiro dressed as a pilot and his sister Nezuko dressed as a flight attendant. Beverages will be served in unique Demon Slayer-themed cups, and from September 30th, passengers can purchase individual stainless steel water bottles with the aircraft livery printed on the side. They will also be given a commemorative memo pad on four of the aircraft's first flights.

Enduring partnership

ANA began a partnership with anime company Ufotable in December 2021. Shortly after, the airline had two Demon Slayer liveries painted. The first entered service on January 31st, and the second on March 26th. Both aircraft were Boeing 767s and sport similar liveries with a few differences. They offer a unique in-flight experience, with the flight attendants wearing aprons inspired by the famous character Nezuko, and will use special Demon Slayer-themed cups. The airline hopes to continue this collaboration with the anime as it has seen high levels of customer approval for its new liveries and memorabilia.
