About Mark Finlay

Journalist - Mark is an experienced travel journalist having published work in the industry for more than seven years. His enthusiasm for aviation news and wealth of experience lends itself to some excellent insight, with his work cited in Forbes amongst other publications. Based in Alicante, Spain.

Why do you love aviation?

I first flew as a young child and was a BOAC Junior Jet Club member. As a teenager, I joined the Air Training Corps, where I learned to fly gliders and trained in de Havilland Canada DHC-1 Chipmunks. Later in life, I got a job with an affiliate of US Airways and got to fly all over the world non-revenue on UA Airways and its partner airlines.

What is your favourite aircraft and why?

My favorite aircraft has always been the STOL de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter, which can access remote and challenging locations.

What is your industry focus?

While I am not focused on any particular aviation industry sector, I am becoming more interested in private jets and European low-cost airlines.
