The fourth member of the Mickey Mouse family, Daisy Duck, is preparing to join Azul's fleet. The latest Airbus A320neo carrying the special pink livery has been spotted at Airbus' facility in Toulouse, France, meaning delivery could be around the corner as well. Let's find out more about this plane and Azul's ongoing partnership with Disney.

Painted and ready to go

This week saw Azul's latest Airbus A320neo perform taxi tests in Toulouse ahead of test flights and delivery to the Brazilian carrier. Currently registered F-WWTO, a test registration, the plane will join the fleet at PR-YSK in a short while. While a regular A320neo delivery is nothing special for Azul now - it has 44 currently - there is something special about this plane.

PR-YSK will carry the fourth and final Disney-themed livery for Azul. The A320neo carries Daisy Duck on its tail, pink winglets, white flowers on a pink fuselage, and the Walt Disney World logo prominently displayed. On the front, there is a smiling nose, and the cockpit has distinct eyebrows. Certainly not your usual livery.

The aircraft is fresh off the assembly line, per AIBFamily Flights. The aircraft rolled off the assembly line in October and conducted the first taxi test on Wednesday, 9th November. Azul first released the details of the livery in August, meaning delivery before the year-end is a likely possibility.

Joining the family

Those familiar with Azul know the carrier's history with unique liveries that highlight the culture of Brazil, wildlife, and commercial partnerships. The four-aircraft deal promoting Disney World was first revealed in September 2021, featuring Mickey Mouse himself on an A320neo. Since then, Minnie Mouse joined on an A321neo in December, and Donald Duck arrived on an A320neo this May. Now, the quartet is close to complete, with Daisy planning to land soon.

Special liveries are a great way for companies to increase their exposure globally, with planes usually flying to destinations around the world, drawing intrigue from passengers. For Disney fans, the plane will draw longing expressions and hopes of visiting one of the Disney parks as soon as possible. With the world reopening from the pandemic, now is a great time for Disney to promote visits to its parks.

One of many brands

Companies have been teaming up with airlines for a long time for advertising. Japan and East Asia are home to several Pokemon-themed liveries, Hello Kitty is a favorite for Taiwanese airlines, and GOL recently showed off its Harry Potter-themed livery. In terms of marketing, a flying billboard is hard to beat, with Pepsi's iconic Concorde livery still in the history books.
