The Brazilian carrier Azul Linhas Aéreas has officially revealed the fourth member of the world’s most magical fleet, composed of several Airbus A320-family-based aircraft promoting a unique livery with certain Disney characters. Who is the final member? Let’s find out.

Two mouses, one duck, and…

Since 2021, Azul and Disney have partnered to promote certain Disney characters onboard the Brazilian carrier’s fleet. These aircraft –three Airbus A320neo and one Airbus A321neo– have an external livery with a unique painting of a character, as well as a unique cabin with Disney-related decorations.

So far, Azul received a Mickey Mouse-painted A320neo in September last year, followed by a Minnie Mouse A321neo in December, and a Donald Duck A320neo earlier this year. The registrations of these airframes are PR-YSH, PR-YJF, and PR-YSI, respectively. On July 30, celebrating Friendship Day worldwide, Azul reunited these three planes at the airport of Viracopos in Campinas.

The fourth and final Disney-themed aircraft was recently revealed by Azul Linhas Aéreas. This time it is Daisy Duck, the prima donna girlfriend of Donald Duck, the chosen character to be painted on an Airbus A320neo. The A320neo is currently undergoing the painting and customization process at Airbus' factory in Toulouse, France, and is expected to begin carrying passengers to 40 cities soon, the company announced but did not give an exact date to see Daisy in the skies.

The aircraft will be named “Margarida Nas Nuvens” or “Daisy In the Clouds”; it was entirely themed in honor of the character who debuted in an animated short film in 1940. Its design, in shades of pink, yellow, black, and white, will bring flowers and other delicate details in harmony with Daisy's personality.

Azul revealed the identity of the fourth aircraft in a short cute video posted on Instagram. A little girl called Alice had to ensemble a puzzle to discover Daisy. You can see the video here.

Azul’s fleet

The Brazilian airline closed the second quarter of 2022 with a fleet composed of 167 aircraft, with an average age of 7.1 years. Its fleet includes 50 Airbus A320 family aircraft, 12 A330s, 36 ATR 72-600s, 59 Embraer units, and several Cessna aircraft. While the registration details of Daisy Duck’s A320neo remain a mystery, the other Disney-related aircraft are owned by the leasing company BOC Aviation. It is estimated their lease will last until 2033. We should expect the same from this aircraft.

Azul is well known for having unique artistic liveries in its fleet. The airline has four aircraft with the Brazilian flag as its livery, and it is one of each jets it operates: one Embraer E190, one ATR 72-600, one A321neo, and one A330-200. Azul also has a very colorful E195-E2, called the Ararinha Azul. It is painted promoting the incredible wildlife across Brazil and has six macaws on its exterior fuselage. It is truly a thing of beauty.
