British Airways has announced that, following its New York debut, the Boeing 777 aircraft with the new Club World suites will fly to other destinations within the United States later this year.

A lot of our American readers probably felt slightly left out when we announced which routes the new British Airways Airbus A350 would debut on. While this included Dubai and Toronto, no US flights were announced. This meant that Americans could not take a direct flight to experience the new Club World seat. This is all set to change, however, as British Airways will be flying Boeing 777s retrofitted with the suite to several US destinations.

New York launch

The new refurbished Boeing 777s in British Airways' fleet will debut to New York from later this October. London to New York is one of British Airways' prime routes. As such, it is not a surprise that the Boeing 777s will debut their new Club World suites on this route.

By the end of 2019, British Airways is set to have a total of six aircraft incorporating the new business class suite. This will consist of four Airbus A350-1000s and two Boeing 777-200s.

Additional US routes

If you're not keen on flying to New York, don't fear. Simple Flying spoke to British Airways who told us that the aircraft featuring the new Club world suite will fly to four other destinations within the United States. These will include:

  • London Heathrow – Boston
  • London Heathrow – Chicago O’Hare
  • London Heathrow – Philadelphia
  • London Heathrow – Seattle

These routes will all only be operated by the Club World suite aircraft for a limited period. The flights are subject to change, so beware if booking just for suite experience. According to Routes Online, the US routes will be operated as follows:

  • Boston - Select flights from 2nd of February 2020;
  • Chicago - Select flights from 28th of January 2020;
  • Philadelphia - Select flights from 11th of March 2020;
  • Seattle - Select flights from 2nd of January 2020.

Other destinations

Don't worry if you're not looking to fly between the US and Britain. The flag carrier is not going to leave you out. While British Airways hasn't confirmed it to us, Routes Online also suggests that the Club World suite Boeing 777s will operate to a range of global destinations. The full network suggested by the publication is as follows:

  • Abuja;
  • Dammam via Bahrain;
  • Dubai (which will also see the Airbus A350);
  • Jeddah;
  • Kuwait City;
  • Nairobi;
  • Riyadh;
  • Tel Aviv (which will also see the Airbus A350).

With the exception of New York's JFK, these routes are all touted to launch in 2020. This is likely when the airline will begin to ramp up its Boeing 777 refurbishment program.
