While British Airways is using the A380 to Los Angeles this winter, it won't be next summer. That was already known, and it comes as London Heathrow-Los Angeles has a record 11x daily flights next summer.

However, until now, it was not confirmed if the quadjet would return to Los Angeles. According to BA's schedule upload over the weekend, it'll return next winter. Of course, things could change in a year, but it clearly shows its intention.

Los Angeles A380 winter-seasonal for BA

BA currently operates London Heathrow to Los Angeles 2x daily, but it'll return to 3x daily from December 26th. Its four-class, 469-seat A380s have been used to Los Angeles since September 2013, although infrequently during the pandemic.

The A380 is deployed to Los Angeles to this day. It is on BA269, leaving Heathrow at 15:15 and arriving in California at 18:35 local. Returning, BA268 departs at 20:50 and arrives back the next day at 15:10.

According to OAG, BA will use the A380 1x daily to Los Angeles from October 29th, the first day airlines in the Northern Hemisphere switch to winter 2023 schedules. It'll still be on BA269/BA268.

Boston to Doha...

BA will deploy the A380 on ten routes in the next year. For greater readability, I've broken them into two groups of five. Note that some flight times vary per day; where this happens, I've selected the most typical. Some schedules also vary by season; if it happens, I've only mentioned one.

  1. Boston: summer seasonal A380 route. Operated 1x daily until October 29th and returns 1x daily from March 26th. BA213 outbound (11:15-13:35) and BA212 inbound (19:15 - 06:50+1)
  2. Chicago O'Hare: year-round A380 route. 1x daily. This winter, it's on BA295 out (11:20-15:15) and BA294 back (17:00-06:40+1). Next summer, it's on BA297/BA296
  3. Dallas Fort Worth: year-round A380 route. 1x daily on BA193 out (11:05-15:25 this winter) and BA192 back (18:55-09:50+1 in winter)
  4. Doha: for the World Cup only. 1x daily from November 18th-January 8th. BA123 outbound (21:20-07:05+1), BA122 inbound (15:20-19:50)
  5. Dubai: year-round A380 route. 1x daily now until February 20th, when it stops being used temporarily; it's on BA109 out (21:30-08:30+1) and BA108 in (13:35-17:40). It returns on March 26th, when it'll be 3x weekly in summer on BA107 (12:50-23:05) and BA106 (01:05-05:55/01:25-06:15)
