British Airways will complete the rollout of its Club Suite in 2025. The final aircraft to receive the new suite based at Heathrow will be the Airbus A380, as was revealed last week.

The new Club Suite is a game-changer for British Airways. While airlines left, right, and center have been upgrading their business class products, British Airways had been flying a decades-old outdated business class product. However, this is all changing now, as the airline is slowly rolling out private suites in its business class cabin. The complete rollout will take around six years, finishing with the giant of the skies, the Airbus A380.

What is the new Club Suite?

British Airways' new Club Suite is the airline's first major overhaul to its business class product in over a decade. British Airways is slashing its current configuration of 2-4-2 to a new 1-2-1 configuration, similar to what is found in First.

The new product sees every business class passenger given their own small suite. This is complete with a door that can be closed while cruising. The seat naturally converts into a lie-flat bed allowing passengers to get a full night's sleep in complete privacy. Additionally, each suite has direct aisle access and gate to gate entertainment. This has led some to comment that the new Club Suite trumps the current First offering.

When will the Club Suite be rolled out?

All of this may be leaving you thinking, "when will I be able to try the Club Suite?". Well, I come bearing good and bad news. The bad news is that of British Airways' 277 aircraft, only three currently have the Club Suite. This equates to roughly one percent of the airline's fleet.

By the end of 2019, six aircraft should have the new business class installed. This will be two retrofitted Boeing 777s, and four Airbus A350s delivered with the new product. However, British Airways puts this at 5% of the Heathrow fleet.

In 2020, Boeing 777-300s will start to receive the cabin, in addition to more Boeing 777-200s. These will be accompanied by brand new Boeing 787-10s and Airbus A350-1000s. This will mean 33% of the rollout is complete.

In 2021, the first Boeing 787-8 will be retrofitted with the new cabin layout. This will be accompanied by the first Boeing 787-9s as well as new Boeing 777-9s in 2022. These years will see 52 and 79% of the rollout respectively.

As we move into 2023, the first of British Airways' Airbus A380s will begin to receive the suite, and the rollout will slow down. In 2023 the rollout will be 92% complete. This will become 97% complete in 2024, and 100% complete in 2025.
