British Airways has announced that its First Class is getting an upgraded soft product. The airline’s First Class passengers will be able to enjoy the new amenities starting March 31st.
British Airways announced last year that it was investing £6.5bn for its customers. As a result, the airline will add 72 new aircraft to its fleet over the next five years. Additionally, it will upgrade the interior of 128 of its long-haul aircraft.
The new First Class soft product is also a part of this investment.
Which new amenities will British Airways offer its First Class passengers?
British Airways will offer a variety of new amenities including new bedding and new menus.
First of all, First Class passengers will be able to choose their meals from a new a la carte menu. The meals will feature seasonal ingredients from Britain. In addition, passengers will be offered a new afternoon tea service. They will be able to select from a variety of sandwiches, scones, pastries, and teas.
The meals will be served on bone china tableware designed by William Edwards. He designed the items specifically for British Airways. The silverware will be from Studio William.
British Airways is also introducing new Darlington glassware.
British Airways wanted to ensure that its First Class passengers will be as comfortable as possible during their journey. Consequently, the airline will offer a foam-fiber mattress topper and 40o-thread-count bedding for ultimate comfort. Furthermore, the passengers will be given Temperley London loungewear and an amenity bag filled with skincare products from ELEMIS.
Last but not least, passengers wanting to take advantage of the 1,000 hours of in-flight entertainment will sure be happy to know that high-performance Meridian headphones will be provided by British Airways.
British Airways‘ goal is to make its First Class passengers feel like they are in a five-star hotel.
According to Carolina Martinoli, British Airways’ Director of Brand and Customer Experience, British Airways’ “teams of designers, chefs and customer service experts have carefully thought through the details [they] know matter most to [its] customers.” Additionally, in its “centenary year, [the airline has] sought out some of the best British designers and manufacturers to work with to ensure travelling in First with British Airways is an unforgettable experience.”
