A newly refurbished Boeing 767 is generating buzz in the aviation circles with its luxurious makeover, upping the bar for bespoke aircraft interiors. The plane belongs to entrepreneur, businessman, and attorney John H. Ruiz and has been refitted by VIP Completions, a Florida-based company specializing in aircraft refurbishment.

Deluxe makeover

For many private jet owners, the purpose of their aircraft isn’t merely getting from point A to B. It doubles up as their office, a home at 35,000 feet, and all other things that commercial aviation cannot offer.

VIP Completions recently unveiled the spectacular interior of a Boeing 767 delivered to Mr Ruiz. The aircraft seats 33 passengers and allows 16 to sleep comfortably. While it has all the bells and whistles you’d expect in a plush private jet (high-speed internet, HD audio, and full-spectrum LED lighting), the high degree of personalization takes it a step further.

The floorplan features six distinct living spaces plus four lavatories. Some of the highlights include:

Master bedroom

It has a queen-size bed with Frette linens and leather-lined cabinets. The room is connected to the first ensuite VIP lavatory with full stand-up shower, sable-colored Ultraleather cabinet tops, Techno Aerospace wood-like flooring, and white marble vanity countertops.

Two private lounges

One has a custom L-shaped divan with fabrics and cushions by Loro Piana and a sable-colored coffee table. The other features three divans in Loro Piana fabric, each convertible into sleeping configuration. It is also connected to the second ensuite VIP lavatory with its own full stand-up shower.

Entertainment area

This is where the passengers will indulge in an 80-inch home cinema, and DJ plug-ins integrated cabin-wide with ALTO Aviation Premium Cabin Audio System. Integrated with large HD monitors, it’s perfect for enjoying movies, video games, or music concerts.

Dining area

This area features a custom dining table that can accommodate up to seven passengers and has Ultraleather sable trim.

Biggest project yet

The company has successfully completed several VIP widebody projects in the past – including multiple BBJs, 757s, and others – but this project was the biggest in its history. Last year, Ben Shirazi, President, VIP Completions, had commented about the 767, saying,

“Upon delivery, it will more closely resemble a luxury home than a business aircraft. Our talented team of craftsmen are able to take a client’s vision and realize their dreams. By reflecting highly-personalized tastes and preferences, selecting the finest materials and incorporating the latest technologies, we deliver unprecedented levels of comfort and luxury, and a totally unique in-flight experience.”

Ruiz, too, is quite happy with the finished product and said,

“This project is the realization of my dream to create a unique private aircraft for business, pleasure, and family travel.”
