Delta's inaugural A321neo flight took off from Boston to San Francisco on May 20th. It currently has three of the type, but assuming no changes, that's expected to rise to 26 by the end of the year – meaning many more routes will see service from the new aircraft. Next is New York JFK to Seattle, becoming the carrier's third A321neo route from SEA.
Delta's A321neos have 194 seats. There are 20 first-class recliners (part of a brand-new and improved first product, with more focus on privacy), 42 Comfort+ extra-legroom seats, and 132 in regular economy. Befitting their long sectors, a third of the A321neo's seats are premium. Cabins include mood lighting, especially good for longer sectors on which the type is deployed, and more overhead storage space.
New York JFK to Seattle is coming
According to the latest schedule upload via OAG, Delta will use the A321neo between JFK and Seattle from September 12th until November 5th. There will be some 55 departures by the 194-seat aircraft. It will operate one of Delta's 4x daily JFK-Seattle flights:
- JFK to Seattle: DL427, 11:00-14:14 (daily except Sat); DL308, 06:59-10:09 (Sat)
- Seattle to JFK: DL327, 15:35-23:53 (daily except Sat); DL374, 11:55-20:25 (Sat)
The large Airbus narrowbody will replace the 180-seat B737-900ER, 168-seat B757-200, and 281-seat A330-900 on specific flights.
