From the return of its signature Delta One dessert cart to the introduction of regional specialties and an elevated wine offering, Delta Air Lines has refreshed its onboard food and beverage experience for the new year. Some of the items are already available, while others will be rolled out over the next few months.

The airline’s senior vice president of inflight service, Kristen Manion Taylor, highlighted the importance of inflight catering and celebrated the new arrivals, saying,

“Your onboard meal or beverage should be no different than your go-to restaurant at home, and that’s why we’re constantly reinventing our onboard service at Delta – we always want to surprise and delight our customers with seasonal and fresh menu options. From delicious Spanish tapas plates to refreshing rosé, there is something new for everyone to enjoy.”

The return of the Delta One dessert cart

Delta One customers will now once again be able to indulge with the airline’s signature dessert cart on international flights. Available options include opera cake with chocolate ganache, Cowgirl Creamery wagon wheel, fruit and cheese plates, and a build-your-own ice cream sundae.

From March, Delta Air Lines will also offer passengers a variety of premium cocktails from Tip Top Proper Cocktails on selected domestic and international flights. While the majority of the other updates are available exclusively to customers in the airline’s premium cabins, the cocktail range is available for all passengers to purchase on selected flights.

Tip Top has been the carrier’s cocktail partner since its drink service returned in 2021 following the pandemic, and their rotating selection will include the brand’s Espresso Martini, Bee’s Knees, and Negroni.

Seasonal menus and an elevated wine offering

Since the start of the year, First Class and Delta One passengers on selected flights over 900 miles have been enjoying an updated food menu, offering a range of seasonal and local items. For example, those flying out of New York (JFK) can enjoy a locally inspired cheesesteak, while passengers from Los Angeles (LAX) are offered a chicken piccata with lemon caper sauce and Calabrian Caesar salad. An extended range of vegetarian and vegan options are also available.

To wash down their food choices, passengers can choose from an updated selection of premium wine brands, including La Fête du Rosé.

Regional touches for Delta One customers

On flights to the US from several European destinations, Delta One passengers will be treated to regionally inspired menus served prior to arrival. Passengers from Madrid (MAD) and Barcelona (BCN) will enjoy Spanish-style tapas, including beef empanadas, Spanish tortilla, and Ibérico ham. Those arriving from London (LHR and LGW), Edinburgh (EDI), and Dublin (DUB), will be served a traditional afternoon tea, featuring warm fruit scones, clotted cream, strawberry preserves, and mini pastries.

It is not just the onboard food and beverage selection that is being refreshed either – over the next few months, luxury products from Delta Air Lines’ skincare partner, Grown Alchemist, will be rolled out in premium cabin bathrooms.
