Just a few hours ago, Delta Air Lines unveiled an updated Delta Premium Select cabin product. The updated product will be available on all transpacific and most transatlantic flights. The cabin will feature enhanced dining, new amenity kits, and an updated seat.
Updated Delta Premium Select
Delta Premium Select saw its debut five years ago on several transpacific and transatlantic routes. Since its debut, the product has been expanded to additional routes and aircraft. According to Delta, "The latest enhancements build on Delta’s best-in-class onboard experience while also offering elevated amenities and more personalization and control." The airline hopes to expand its social impact through its Someone Somewhere partnership through the new product.

A big highlight of the upgrade is Delta's dining experience which will be offered today. The product will feature more options infused with local flavors.

When designing our Delta Premium Select menu, we reimagined our food and beverage offerings from scratch, and we're excited to launch delicious new offerings that also highlight our premium service and culture of innovation."
Throughout the past year, Delta has made essential changes to its onboard dining experience, making its service values-led and people-first. The airline has achieved this by introducing seasonal menus, more plant-based meals, sourcing food locally, and forming new partnerships worldwide.
In addition to enhanced dining, Delta Premium Select customers will be given new amenity kits by Someone Somewhere. The new kits will begin to be phased next month and feature Grown Alchemist travel essentials. The kits will come in three designs, created exclusively for Delta, including a unique design to honor Breast Cancer Awareness month. Customers in the Premium Select cabin will receive lip balm, hand towels, a memory foam pillow, noise-canceling headsets, and a plush blanket made from recycled materials.
Delta is also introducing a new seat in the Premium Select cabin, offering a wider seat, more recline, and adjustable foot and leg rests on most international long-haul flights.
American Airlines' Flagship Suite
Delta's news broke shortly after American Airlines announced significant upgrades to its premium products, including seats with privacy doors which will be introduced on the airline's Boeing 787-9 and Airbus A321XLR aircraft beginning in 2024. The new product will be called the Flagship Suite and feature plenty of luxurious touches. American also introduced a new premium economy seat which will also be available on the new 787-9s and A321XLRs.
It is about time that some major United States airlines upgrade their onboard products and offerings, as many are starting to fall behind the rest of the world. Economy products and offerings also need to be updated, but every change will come one step at a time, starting with premium cabins because those earn the most revenue.
