What can we expect to see here?

Let's look at the features that can make or break any airport lounge and see where the Centurion Lounge stands.

Unique refreshments: American Express notes that the new location will host a variety of locally inspired amenities, including the company's first-ever Craft Beer Bar. On offer will be rotating selections of some of Colorado’s best local brews.

Dining options: For something more filling, the lounge will have a locally sourced Italian-inspired menu designed by an award-winning chef. Additionally, this lounge will be the first in the network to include a live-action cooking station, where Card Members will be able to enjoy customizable dishes prepared à la carte. "The menu will rotate daily so that guests can enjoy freshly made breakfast and lunch items, such as Gubana French Toast and Rigatoni al Portonat," American Express notes.

A games room: For larger lounges around the world, we are increasingly seeing more "active" entertainment options. At this new Denver lounge, guests have access to a games room, which will include pool and shuffleboard tables, as well as "custom, large-scale classics such as Connect Four and Checkers." Games will be cleaned and sanitized after each use.

Staying safe and clean

Lounges have had to change drastically since the beginning of the global health crisis. Denver's Centurion Lounge is no exception.

The lounge has a list of health-and-safety practices in place as part of its “Centurion Lounge Commitment .” Practices include but are not limited to:

  • Socially distanced seating,
  • Reduced capacity,
  • Increased cleaning frequency,
  • Requirements to wear a face-covering
  • and served food instead of buffets

American Express also has plans to open a new location at London Heathrow later this year. It will also be expanding its locations at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, San Francisco International Airport, New York’s LaGuardia Airport, and Las Vegas McCarran International Airport.
