Embraer has announced it is hiring more than 150 open positions at its facility in Melbourne, Florida. The Brazilian OEM, the producer of the E195-E2 and the Phenom 300 series, is hiring for multiple positions, including Assembly Technicians, A&P Technicians, Aircraft Painters, Quality Inspectors, and Manufacturing Engineers.

Embraer’s hiring spree

Embraer will begin a hiring spree in Melbourne, Florida, to address the incoming demand. The campus in this city serves as Embraer’s headquarters for its Executive Jets unit, like the Phenom 300 series, which is assembled in Melbourne.

Embraer opened the Melbourne campus in 2011. The facility is home to the assembly line for two of the company’s light-jet aircraft: the Phenom 100EV and the Phenom 300E.

At this campus, Embraer employees also work on the final assembly of the Praetor 500 and Praetor 600 aircraft, which address the mid-sized market in private aviation.

The Brazilian manufacturer will be hosting a recruiting event on April 21, 2022, from 10:00 to 15:00. The event will take place at the Rockledge Career Center at 295 Barnes Boulevard in Rockledge, Florida.

Regarding the hiring spree, Darrel Stern, Head of Talent Acquisition & Campus Program Manager, Embraer North America, said,

“Embraer chose the Space Coast due to the area’s highly-skilled workforce, and because of this, we are lucky to work with extremely talented individuals each day. Our company is growing at a remarkable pace, and we are now looking to expand our talent search—not only in Brevard but throughout the entire state. As we experience this growth, this is an opportunity to work for a company that is passionate about stretching the boundaries of what is possible and integrates different cultures into a global environment.”

Embraer during 2022’s first quarter

Embraer delivered a total of 14 jets in the first quarter of 2022. Of this total, six were commercial aircraft, and eight were executive jets (six light and two large).

As of March 31, Embraer’s firm order backlog totaled US$17.3 billion, said the company in a statement.

Last year, Embraer delivered 56 Phenom 300 series light jets. The product has been in the market for over a decade and has had, on average, 50 deliveries per year since entering the market in December 2009.

Moreover, the Phenom 300 series was named the world’s best-selling light jet for the 10th consecutive year and the most delivered twinjet of 2021.

Overall, Embraer delivered 48 commercial jetliners in 2021, including 27 E175, two E190-E2, and 19 E195-E2. In the following weeks, Embraer is set to release its 2022 first-quarter results.

Recent news

A few days ago, Embraer announced it had concluded a three-day tour of the E190-E2 in Vietnam. The aircraft visited Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Côn Đảo, where the jet demonstrated its fuel efficiency, minimal noise emissions, and short runway performance.

Meanwhile, Zanite Acquisition Corp filed its definite proxy statement, which was an essential step to Eve (an Embraer company developing Urban Air Mobility aircraft) becoming a publicly-traded company.
