At an event in Abu Dhabi, Etihad Airways CEO Tony Douglas announced an exciting upgrade for the airline in partnership with one of the world's most well-known brands, Armani. Armani, a brand that was founded in 1975, has been selected as the provider for many of Etihad's soft products in its business cabin.

What to expect

Though the products will be launching onboard in December, they were on display at the event and include new bedding, dinnerware, cutlery, and glassware.

‘The Constellation Collection,' the collaboration is inspired by the stars. Etihad seeks to provide a ‘beyond Business’ offering with this initiative. Passengers can expect to be served with items designed with a distinct geometric pattern.

A word from the airline

Simple Flying is present in Abu Dhabi and spoke to Tony Douglas just moments ago. Douglas emphasized that the new products are an enhancement of the airline's already superb business class product.

Many may consider this announcement disappointing, as the airline had tried to build some hype by posting that it would announce major news on October 19. Some expected Etihad to announce that it was joining an alliance or that it was going to bring back its A380s. Nonetheless, Douglas stated that he was proud of the decoys the airline put in place for today's announcement.

Douglas added:

“Today we unveil a completely new and elevated way to fly with Etihad Airways—an experience defined by our Emirati heritage yet shaped by a clear vision for our future. Known globally for its Italian luxury and elegance, Armani/Casa is the ideal brand partner to create an unparalleled level of bespoke service and refinement for our guests.”

A touch of class

Altogether, this luxurious Etihad provision is in collaboration with Armani/Casa - the furniture and home collection of the Italian fashion powerhouse.

Etihad's aircraft interior has a strong reputation, particularly in business. We've already highlighted how the soft product accompanies the cabin well. So, the new items will complement the high quality textiles to put another layer of icing on the cake.

Etihad recently added Airbus A350 flights to London Heathrow, and the carrier is expecting a busy schedule ahead with its widebodies. All in all, this recovery period is the perfect time to revitalize the cabin.

With Simple Flying currently on the scene in the United Arab Emirates following an Etihad A350-1000 flight in, we will ensure to follow with an up and close review of what passengers can soon anticipate when flying with the airline.
