Eviation’s Alice has been making considerable progress this year. In May, it received its first magniX electric propulsion unit (EPU) in a crucial step toward the aircraft's anticipated first flight. Now, the company behind the plane has revealed the innovative project's executive six-passenger executive configuration design.

High expectations

Since Alice’s presentation at the 2019 Paris Air Show, Eviation has been determined to change the stereotype that small planes lack luxury. Ultimately, the firm is looking to offer affordable comfort with lower noise and fewer vibrations witnessed on other planes. It promotes Alice as the first all-electric commuter aircraft.

Alice is being constructed with 95% composite materials with a planned introduction in 2023. Europe and North America will see the first deliveries, with the aircraft being part of a wave of modern electric solutions in the mission for a sustainable aviation industry.

Across the cabin

With a focus on luxury, there is plenty to admire when looking at the designs of the interior. The cabin is set to be the widest in its group, with a width of 6 ft 4 in (1.93 m). The wideness doesn’t stop there as passengers can expect to enjoy spectacular views with 22-in (55 cm) high / 16.5-in (41 cm) wide panoramic windows that Evitado bills as the largest in its class.

Seat features include an accessible side panel with a foldable table, a personal power outlet, and a USB port. Travelers will also have plenty of space for their luggage due to the 100 cu ft (2.83 CBM) compartments that provide 850 lb (385 kg) of storage, offering the largest baggage compartment in the class of the model.

“Alice’s executive cabin is the epitome of pure all-electric elegance, and a magnificent blend of beauty and technology. We are shaping the future of travel through electric aviation and it’s thrilling to offer a glimpse into what business travel can and will look like in the very near-term. Our executive cabin concept elevates the industry standard for interior design for this class of aircraft.”

Meanwhile, Eviation Vice President of Sales Jessica Pruss added:

“We have received tremendous inputs and interest from the marketplace in this specific configuration, which played an integral role in its creation. It is electrifying to introduce the design today and announce that we are currently taking orders for the aircraft that will be delivered in 2026.”

Future overhauls

Electric aircraft are expected to revolutionize short-haul travel in the coming decades. There has been significant progress in this field, with the likes of magniX, Wright Electric, Collins Aerospace, and Rolls-Royce making notable breakthroughs in recent years. With several requirements needed to be met in regional travel, Alice is set to cater to those demanding luxury in this market.
