Frontier Airlines announced three new routes and two seasonal route resumptions from its base at Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport early today.

New seasonal routes

Beginning in May, ultra-low-cost-carrier (ULCC) Frontier Airlines will launch two new seasonal international routes to Guatemala City (GUA) and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (SDQ). Adding two new destinations will increase Frontier’s international flights from ATL by 18 weekly, from 21 to 39.

Flights to Guatemala City are scheduled to launch on May 12 and will operate twice weekly, with fares starting from $99. Frontier will fly to Santo Domingo twice weekly beginning on May 11, and fares start at $129.

In addition to the two new international routes, Frontier will launch nonstop seasonal flights to San Diego (SAN), operating daily. Two new domestic routes will resume in May, from ATL to Salt Lake City (SLC) and Ontario (ONT), operating thrice weekly and daily.

According to schedule data from Cirium, Frontier has 86 flights scheduled to eight international destinations from ATL. Adding Guatemala City and Santo Domingo means Frontier will serve ten international destinations from ATL at the beginning of the summer travel season. Cancun is the ultra-low-cost carrier’s most popular international route from Atlanta, with eight weekly flights from May 7.

Frontier has 172 international flights scheduled to and from Atlanta in May, operating on its Airbus A320neo and A321 fleets. From the Georgia capital, Frontier has more than 350,000 seats for sale. July is the peak summer month for international travel from Atlanta, with 250 scheduled flights, including an increase to daily flights to Montego Bay, Jamaica.

Greater ATL operations

International flights make up a small percentage of Frontier’s operations in Atlanta. Frontier has almost 2,000 flights scheduled to and from ATL in May, offering 366,424 seats. Its most served city from Atlanta is Orlando, with 70 scheduled flights. Philadelphia and Denver are not far behind, with 65 and 63 flights, respectively.
