Growing out of Las Vegas

Las Vegas is a major destination for leisure travelers in the United States. From casinos to outdoor activities, the city bills itself as "The Entertainment Capital of the World." However, many may know Las Vegas better as "Sin City."

Las Vegas is the perfect city for a carrier like Frontier. It is a city that mainly leisure travelers want to go to. It is a city without a lot of high-yield business travelers, but rather a place mainly for adult entertainment. This is why low-cost carriers, such as Spirit Airlines, Frontier Airlines, and even Southwest Airlines, are three of the five largest airlines at LAS, according to data from the Bureau of Transportation Statistics.

The growth out of Las Vegas comes after Frontier Airlines released a few batches of new routes, catering mostly to leisure travelers in the midst of the ongoing crisis.

March will be a busy month for Frontier

Frontier Airlines is expecting a pretty busy March. The airline has already revealed that a new Airbus A320neo jet will be delivered that month with a newer, lighter, more-efficient slimline economy seat. These seats will be on all of Frontier's new aircraft from March onwards.

These new deliveries, coupled with the fact that Frontier will be leading into a busy travel season from March onwards, are likely why the carrier is adding these flights from the spring.

Frontier Airlines is also very experimental when it comes to new routes. The carrier will try out new markets, and if they work, it will grow them. If the new markets do not work out, Frontier has no hesitation pulling out of them if they need to.

There is a good chance that most of these new routes will end up sticking around. Frontier Airlines is mostly growing to markets it already operates to– save for Los Cabos. That may be the diciest of all of these routes, but the others will likely end up staying. The routes are low-risk, given how they are operated only a couple of times per week.
