Starting on June 1, the Spanish carrier Iberia will return to Terminal 5 at London Heathrow International Airport (LHR), relocating its flights to the same area where its IAG partner British Airways operates. American Airlines, another airline with strong ties to Iberia, will remain at Terminal 3.

Relocation

On Friday, Iberia reminded all its travelers about the incoming relocation from Terminal 3 to Terminal 5 at London Heathrow. This move will make it easier for the Spanish airline’s customers to make their connections, improving the passenger experience. The Iberia check-in area of Terminal 5 will be located in Zone B, the same in which it operated prior to the transfer to Terminal 3 in July last year.

At this location, customers who need to check in their luggage, print their boarding passes, or conduct any other procedure with the Iberia team will have six counters at their disposal, from B10 to B16.

Terminal 5 is one of the newest at London Heathrow, having just been opened in March 2008. British Airways is currently the only user of this Terminal, and now it is set to be accompanied by Iberia. Similarly to Iberia, American Airlines relocated from T5 to T3 last year. At the time, American said the temporary partial co-location at Terminal 5 was planned only for the summer season, and the company would continue to explore options for joint operations at LHR with all of its Atlantic Joint Business partners in the future. The Atlantic Joint Business is conformed of Aer Lingus, American Airlines, Finnair, Iberia, British Airways, and LEVEL. There has not been any announcement by the US carrier this year regarding a possible temporary relocation.
