Along with today's announcement, ITA launched a new media campaign in New York City and Miami to promote its flights to each city.
"Through a creative twist, the communication flow establishes a direct link between the Italian flagship carrier and Italy, enhancing the beauty of Italian destinations and the feelings they inspire. The campaign will be on billboards and will also have a strong web presence."
New aircraft
Last week, ITA's first Airbus A320neo, with the blue livery, flew its first passenger flight. Since ITA Airways began its operations in October 2021, it has introduced three new aircraft types to its fleet, all manufactured by Airbus. ITA first started with the A220, then added the A350-900, and now added the first 26 A320neos. Switching to the neo (new engine option) aircraft brings a fuel consumption of 20% less than previous generation aircraft. The new planes feature new cabins and better seats.
By the end of the year, ITA Airways expects to receive 39 new aircraft. The Airbus A330neo will be the fourth new aircraft type added to the Italian carrier's fleet. Last week, the airline shared a post on its social media channels showing the progress on its new widebody, and today posted photos showing the beginning of the paint job.
