South American carrier LATAM Brazil is scheduling nearly three thousand extra domestic and international flights for the July high season in this country. Moreover, the company will also launch five new destinations that month, serving the cities of Roma, Montes Claros, Cascavel, Caxias do Sul, and Juiz de Fora.

LATAM’s July plans

LATAM Brazil has scheduled nearly 3,000 domestic and international additional flights for the country’s July high season.

Compared to June 2022, the increase in take-offs is aimed at meeting the growing demand for domestic and international travel in Brazil. Currently, leisure tourism in the country is resuming, and July is often a month characterized by school vacations across the South American giant.

LATAM Brazil will mainly increase its domestic flights to the Brazilian Northeast from São Paulo (Guarulhos and Congonhas), Rio de Janeiro (Santos Dumont); Brasília and Fortaleza. In the international market from Brazil, the company will increase the number of flights to Santiago, Buenos Aires, Miami, and Orlando.

Aline Mafra, LATAM Brazil's Director of Sales and Marketing, said,

"We have prepared for this high season the best flight options and connections to the most popular Brazilian and international destinations during the vacations. We have alternatives for all types of passengers, whether a tourist or a business traveler. Even for those who now seek to integrate both needs, work and leisure, in the same trip, there are good options.”

Strong recovery

LATAM is also looking to launch operations in five new destinations in July. The airline will begin flying to Roma, Montes Claros, Cascavel, Caxias do Sul, and Juiz de Fora. Once these destinations are opened, LATAM will reach the mark of 54 domestic destinations and 20 abroad from Brazil. Moreover, the airline already flies to more Brazilian airports than before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Currently, LATAM Group is deploying a 73% capacity compared to 2019 levels prior to the pandemic. In Brazil, it has fully recovered its pre-pandemic capacity levels, but it is still at a 56% international recovery. Currently, the airline is operating on average 532 daily domestic flights.

In Colombia the airline is currently above 2019 levels, deploying a 14% increase in capacity. The airline is flying to 17 domestic destinations and five international; in Chile, LATAM has recovered 62% of its pre-pandemic service, 41% in Ecuador, 68% in Peru, and has posted a 94% recovery of its cargo segment.

An update on LATAM’s latest developments

Starting on June 1, LATAM will resume its in-flight service on domestic services in Brazil.

The carrier will once again offer snacks and beverages free of charge to all passengers as of that date. Earlier this month, Brazil’s National Health Surveillance Agency announced the end of in-flight service restrictions following a two year stretch due to the pandemic.

Aline Mafra added,

“We have been eagerly awaiting the resumption of in-flight service. It is very important to offer this experience to our customers again after more than two years of suspension.”

Nonetheless, face masks during domestic flights remain mandatory as a protective measure, and removal is permitted only for feeding and hydration purposes.
