By adding four flights per week to China, the Polish national flag carrier will now be able to offer a daily service between Warsaw and Beijing.

Currently, LOT Polish only offers three weekly flights from Warsaw to Beijing Capital Airport (PEK) and will coordinate the new service to Beijing Daxing Airport on alternative days to the WAW-PEK flights.

LOT Polish will now offer daily flights to China from Warsaw

The new four-times-weekly flights from Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) to Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX) will commence on Monday, October 28th 2019. They will operate then every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

The return leg of the flight will depart Beijing Daxing Airport on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 16:00 in the afternoon, arriving at Warsaw Chopin Airport 18:45 in the evening the same day.

LOT Polish will use a 787 Dreamliner for the new route

LOT Polish will operate one of their Boeing 787 Dreamliners on the new route with a three-cabin configuration. Lie-flat business class seats laid out in a 2-2-2 configuration, premium economy in 2-3-2 and economy class in 3-3-3.

Besides the usual Polish inspired food offerings, LOT Polish will also have a Chinese-style menu that will appeal to Chinese tourists and business people.

The new route to Beijing has been in the works for some time and was part of a growth strategy the Star Alliance member launched in 2016. LOT is continuously developing its long-range fleet and by the end of 2019 will have a total of 15 Boeing 787 Dreamliners according to Aviation 24.

When speaking about LOT Polish flights to Beijing’s new Daxing Airport CEO Rafał Milczarski told the Polish press:

“We have pursued a higher frequency of flights to China for a few years because we see great business potential in this connection. This new infrastructure investment – Beijing-Daxing International Airport – opens new development opportunities for us on one of the biggest and most dynamically growing markets in the world. Thus, as from the end of October, we will increase the number of flights operated between Warsaw and Beijing from three to seven a week.”

“This is not only a great offer for passengers who travel between China and Poland for leisure and on business, but also for passengers who start their travel from many Central and Eastern European as well as Western European cities.”

China’s potential is not lost on LOT Polish

Since first offering a non-stop service to Beijing from Warsaw in 2012 LOT Polish has seen demand grow. Last year, LOT Polish had an average passenger load factor of 90% during the summer and 75% during the winter.

The new flights to Beijing Daxing Airport also increase the airline’s ability to carry more air freight that now includes temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical products since obtaining a CEIV Pharma Certificate last year.
