Lufthansa Technik has launched an exclusive extension of its new widebody VIP cabin concept EXPLORER at the European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE) 2022 in Geneva: The BRABUS Adventure Lounge. This new extension of EXPLORER allows motorcycles to be staged onboard and carried to wherever the aircraft flies in the BRABUS Adventure Lounge on the aircraft's lower deck.

The new concept is jointly designed by Lufthansa Technik and BRABUS, a leading luxury mobility brand. The innovative design puts the lounge in the rear part of the lower deck, which also can be viewed from the main deck through a glass floor.

Passengers can use the staircase from the main deck to get into the lounge. The brand-new limited BRABUS motorcycle, the BRABUS 1300R, is attractively and exclusively housed in the lounge. The BRABUS 1300R is BRABUS's first motorcycle type, developed with leading Austrian motorcycle experts KTM.

Jan Grube, Sales Director for Lufthansa Technik's VIP & Special Mission Aircraft Services, commented,

"In addition to the floor extending from the front fuselage area to form a veranda and the projection surfaces for virtual content integrated on a large scale in the cabin design, the BRABUS Adventure Lounge perfectly rounds off our concept for world explorers. … This flying platform provides its guests with a very individual base camp for further activities anywhere in the world – now extended by an exciting element with the BRABUS Adventure Lounge. We are particularly pleased to have BRABUS, a globally renowned partner, at our side for the realization of this feature."

Lufthansa Technik's EXPLORER concept

Lufthansa Technik unveiled the EXPLORER design concept at the Monaco Yacht Show 2021, as a design inspired by the trend for go-anywhere adventure yachts. The objective of the concept is to fulfill two wishes for the owners: to take them almost anywhere at any time and to serve them at their destination as an individual five-star hotel and base camp for a wide variety of leisure activities and excursions.

The A330, of course, can serve the first objective like a yacht, just in a different way. And the latest BRABUS concept extension enables the owners to expand their choices after they land at their destinations.

Besides the latest BRABUS concept, Lufthansa Technik's specialists have already developed a wide range of possible use not only for business but also for enjoying life and exploring the world with family and friends. That includes traditional elements like private bedrooms, shower rooms, conference areas, and other interesting concepts such as dining areas, a fitness area, a dance floor, and a spa area.

Moreover, the concept integrates the unique ceiling projection system of Diehl Aerospace (a joint venture of Diehl Aviation and Thales). It enables a variety of atmosphere settings in a private jet for the first time.

Last but not least, the EXPLORER concept features the spectacular open-air seating area (sundeck). This is made possible by opening the main deck cargo hatch, enabling the passenger to have a unique view of the surroundings on a platform at the height of four meters above the apron as a base camp for further discoveries and excursions.
