From tomorrow, Norwegian Airlines will begin offering flights connecting the world's northernmost airport with the world's southernmost airport. Four flights taking 25 hours will connect Svalbard with Ushuaia.

There are some pretty long itineraries out there. For example, with Singapore Airlines it would be possible to fly around the world from Singapore to New York to Frankfurt to Singapore. However, Norwegian has arguably the best long itinerary going. With the long-haul low-cost airline, you can fly from Svalbard to Ushuaia in just 25 hours. The best part? Tickets are available for under £400 one way!

The itinerary

Norwegian's itinerary for flying from Svalbard to Ushuaia sees passengers flying for approximately 25 hours across four flights. The trip is split between three Boeing 737-800 aircraft and one Boeing 787 Dreamliner. In total 9,800 miles will be covered as passengers head from the arctic circle to the southernmost tip of South America. The final leg is operated by Norwegian's Argentinian subsidiary.

Polar bears and penguins

Some people love polar bears, while others love penguins. However, if you're undecided on the matter, this could be the perfect itinerary for you. According to Visit Svalbard, "The polar bear population in the Svalbard archipelago and the Barents Sea is around 3,000, which exceeds the human population."
