Do you remember PRAGUSA.ONE, the company that wants to start an airline operating a fleet of Airbus A350 aircraft with a Premium Economy configuration layout? It has revealed its new livery and a Location of Passenger Accommodations for its planned fleet of four Airbus A350s exclusively to Simple Flying.

New details confirmed

The UK-registered investment vehicle PRAGUSA.ONE still intends to launch an airline in Croatia with four brand new Airbus A350-900 aircraft in a Premium Economy configuration only.

The launch was originally scheduled for earlier this summer, but it has now been postponed to Q4 of 2022, so in a year's time. The following new launch plan details have now been revealed exclusively to Simple Flying:

  • The Airbus A350-900 configuration will feature 251 seats
  • The seat pitch will be 39 inches
  • The seat it selected is the Airgo FX Premium by Safran

Existing plans remain in place

The company still plans to have a fleet of four brand new Airbus A350-900 aircraft with the plan for them to be delivered in 2024. In the meantime, it plans to lease four aircraft, making use of the market that is currently flooded with used aircraft.

The company is still maintaining its intention to base the four Airbus A350-900 aircraft it wants to purchase from Airbus in two bases: Prague Airport (PRG) in Czechia and Dubrovnik Airport (DBV) in Croatia.

The company is counting on the relaxation of travel restrictions globally and easier entry requirements for cross-continental travel.

Depending on the range of restrictions that will remain in place by late next year, Pragusa plans to serve up to eight destinations from its bases in Prague and Dubrovnik:

  • New York (EWR)
  • Tokyo (NRT)
  • Beijing (PEK)
  • Los Angeles (LAX)
  • Singapore (SIN)
  • Johannesburg (JNB)
  • Chengdu (CTU)
  • Kuala Lumpur (KUL)

The pricing has been launched for several destinations already. For example, a round trip from Los Angeles to Dubrovnik and back would be $1,190, while a round trip from Singapore to Prague and back would be $990.

What business model does the company have in mind?

If its application for an AOC in Croatia is successful and if it starts launching routes as planned out of Prague and Dubrovnik, PRAGUSA.ONE would be offering a streamlined product across its network.

Customers wishing to travel on PRAGUSA.ONE’s services will have several choices on offer. For example:

  • 7-day return trips with organized tours to a single destination, e.g. LAX – PRG – LAX
  • 14-day return trips to both Central and Eastern European destinations, e.g. EWR – DBV followed by PRG – EWR
  • One-way tickets, e.g. DBV – LAX
  • Return trips of any duration, e.g. PEK – DBV – PEK
