Fly the ‘Best Business Class Seat’

As the reining Skytrax award winner for Best Business Class Seat, the Qsuite is the industries first ever Business Class double bed. The customisable space allows passengers to be more or less sociable, with adjustable panels and movable TV monitors. Passengers can create a completely private space for a relaxing flight or can open up their suite for up to four travellers to work, dine and socialise together.

The initial offering of the Qsuite will be on board their Boeing 777 jets, operating a sub daily service from January 16th, moving to daily by February 15th, 2019. Booking for the Qsuites is open now, and award availability is good for most flights.

The Qsuite on the A350-1000

Qatar have a strong reputation for having one of the youngest fleets in the skies, and their decision to become launch customer for the A350-1000 was no surprise. Already flying to Singapore and being introduced to Tokyo in January, their US launch destination will be to New York, with a twice daily A350-1000 service, but the second will be DFW.

The cabin body is the widest in the industry, with vertical sidewalls and larger windows creating a more spacious feel for travellers. The overhead bins are the largest in the industry too, and the cabin floor is completely flat with zero obstructions to maintain legroom in every seat.

The flights between DOH and DFW will cover almost 8,000nm

The A350-1000 is due to fly between DFW and Doha from 1st July 2019, with a schedule published up to October 26th, 2019. The aircraft will operate on the following basis:

  • QR729 Doha to Dallas departing 7:50 AM arriving 1:50PM
  • QR730 Dallas to Doha departing 6:10 PM arriving 4:40PM (+1 day)

Previously this route was operated by a Boeing 777-300ER, which didn’t even have the Qsuite on board. In comparison to this aircraft, the A350-1000 will have four more business class seats, but 35 less economy seats. In total, it will feature 46 seats in business and 281 in economy.

‘Overwhelmed’ by demand

The Doha – DFW route was launched in 2014 as a nonstop service, and the airline says it has been ‘overwhelmed’ by the response from the community. They currently operate a daily service, connecting the Lone Star State with India, the Middle East, Asia and Australia from their state of the art hub at Hamad International Airport (DOH).

In a statement, senior vice president of the Americas for Qatar Airways, Eric Odone, said:

"The decision to equip flights from Dallas with our world-renowned Qsuite is part of our long-standing relationship and commitment to the business and leisure travellers in the Dallas community,"

The Qsuites can be booked for flights from the 16th January 2019, although daily operation will not be provided until 15th February.
