A nurse from the United Kingdom is becoming a millionaire overnight thanks to Qatar Airways' 'Fly and Win' campaign. Two other lucky prize winners from Kenya and Belgium have walked away with a brand-new Porche Panamera and a five-star getaway to the Maldives with round-trip private jet flights.

The airline launched the initiative to recognize and reward members of its Loyalty Programme, Privilege Club, and the winners have now been revealed. Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr Akbar Al Baker, said of the announcement:

“It is our pleasure to have been able to break this fantastic news to three of our valued Loyalty Programme members. As the World’s Best Airline, we feel it is important to reward our Privilege Club members for their commitment to our success.

“On behalf of Qatar Airways, I would like to extend my personal congratulations to our campaign winners. There will be more exciting rewards offered by Qatar Airways in future, and we welcome any new joiners to our Privilege Club to take part and be in with a chance to win”.

To enter the prize raffle, passengers had to enroll or be an existing member of Privilege Club and fly anywhere in the airline's network between 01 November 2021 and 31 January 2022.

Three winners worldwide.

The first prize consisted of $1,000,000 (£760,000), which went to National Health Service nurse Mr Francis Capis, from Crawley in the United Kingdom. Capis is originally from the Philippines and hopes to use his prize money to buy his mother a home. Expressing his shock on being informed of his win, he said:

“I just about remembered applying for the ‘Fly and Win’ draw, I knew at that time that I would be so lucky if the stars aligned. I don’t know what to feel, this is crazy! The sky really is the limit now, this will change my life, and that of my family’s for ever. I will make sure I fly Qatar Airways for the rest of my life”.

The second lucky winner was Mr Alfred Machira from Kenya, who won a brand-new high-performance Porsche Panamera sports car.

The third winner was Mr Antonin Ferbus from Belgium, who has received a five-day trip for two in the Maldives in the five-star hotel Six Senses Laamu. The prize includes a return private charter jet flight with Qatar Executive.

A private jet experience on a major carrier

The Middle Eastern flag carrier operates a fleet of wholly-owned luxury business jets available to customers worldwide. Qatar Executive, the private jet charter division of Qatar Airways Group, is the largest commercial operator of the Gulfstream G650ER worldwide and offers passengers several different aircraft options.

The G650ER is the fastest ultra-long-range business jet available, and the carrier currently holds six. It also holds four Gulfstream G500s, three Bombardier Challenger 605s, four Global 5000s, and one Global XRS. Any of which could be an option for Mr Ferbus and his companion on their getaway to the Maldives.
