Russian carrier S7 Airlines is giving its frequent flier members a chance to earn miles at home. As governments and health agencies around the world encourage people to social distance and avoid nonessential travel through April, S7 is giving passengers a reward for staying home.

S7 Airlines rewarding people with miles for staying home

One Mile At A Time reports that a new promotion is now available for S7 Priority members. For each day that a member confirms they are at home, they can earn 100 S7 Priority miles. This promotion started on March 30th and runs until April 30th. This means that members can earn up to 3,200 miles if they started on March 30th. Members just have to go to this page to claim 100 miles per day.

What can I do with 3,200 S7 miles?

While it may be tempting to earn these miles, there is limited use if you are not an S7 frequent flier (or fly any of its partners either). Redeeming for a flight costs a minimum of 5,400 miles and upgrading from economy to business class starts at 6,500 miles. These miles also do not count for S7 tier status. To do that, you have to fly a certain number of segments every year.

Other ways to earn S7 Priority miles while staying at home include online shopping with one of the airline's online store partners. Although, unlike this 100 miles per day offer, online portals are not unique to the airline and are available for longer than a month.

Who is S7 Airlines?

If you haven't heard of S7, you're forgiven. However, now is a good time to learn more about Russia's largest domestic airline. The airline operates hubs in Moscow-Domodedovo and Novosibirsk Tolmachevo. Moreover, S7 is part of the oneworld Alliance.

The airline operates over 100 aircraft including Airbus A319s, A320s, A321s, and A321neos, Boeing 737-800 and 737 MAX 8 aircraft, and some Embraer 170s. The airline's network extends to Central, Southeast, and East Asia as well as to Western Europe. Domestically, however, the airline does have a pretty substantial network. Although, for further destinations in Africa, South Asia, and the Americas, passengers will have to connect on S7's partners.

Overall

S7 Airlines' move to offer frequent flier program members 100 S7 Priority Miles per day is a good way to reward those who decide to stay home. Although it is not much, for frequent fliers, this could add a nice little boost to mileage accounts for flight redemptions, upgrades, or a donation once the situation improves. If you do fly with S7 Airlines, just make sure not to make a scene onboard or else you may end up taped to your seat.
