Florida-based regional carrier Silver Airways is resuming service to Bar Harbor, Maine for an extended summer season. The airline will operate frequent nonstop services between Hancock County-Bar Harbor Airport (BHB) and Boston’s Logan International Airport (BOS) from Memorial Day weekend through October 14, 2020.

“As Maine and New England are beginning to open up their economies, Silver Airways is proud to provide this safe and essential link between Bar Harbor and the surrounding communities in Downeast Maine to Boston and beyond,” -Steve Rossum, CEO, Silver Airways

Connecting Bar Harbor to the country

Boasting about its "100% controllable completion factor" for 2019's summer season, Silver Airways also recorded an 80% on-time arrivals factor for the Bar Harbor – Boston route. The route itself will be operated with the airline's fleet of 34-seat Saab 340B Plus aircraft. The airline has 22 of these aircraft but all will eventually be replaced by newer ATR-600 series turboprops.

Silver Airways’ says its flight schedule is designed to connect to its codeshare and interline partners in Boston. In fact, the airline has also partnered with United Airlines and jetBlue for frequent flyer miles collection while working with airlines like American, Delta, and Alaska (among others) for schedule integration and ease of connecting.

Taking just over an hour, the service will allow travelers from across the region to more conveniently access the coastal tourist destination that is Bar Harbor while allowing residents in and around Bar Harbor to connect to the rest of the country through Boston Logan airport.
