Frontier Airlines is introducing an offer that will give free flights for college students this month. From now through March 23rd, the low-cost carrier will give a free trip to a college student each time a return Discount Den Fare ticket is purchased on applicable flights.
TravelPulse reports that passengers will have to use the promo code FLYFREE to activate the deal. Furthermore, students with an email address with a .edu domain will receive an extra bonus.
If they sign up to a new Discount Den membership and book any Frontier flight before March 23th with it, they will receive a $100 flight voucher for future use. All vouchers will be issued within three business days via email to the .edu email address provided. This will arrive no later than March 26th.
Additionally, the flight vouchers will not be able to be applied to past bookings. They must be used by April 15th for flights departing before May 31st.
With the airline industry going through an incredibly tough period, carriers need to find ways to keep some sort of momentum going. With March being the peak period of Spring Break, the Denver-based outfit is looking to reach those traveling during their break before Easter comes around.
Travelers will have nearly 100 destinations to choose from. By making it easier for students to travel together, there is an extra incentive to book a trip this month. Additionally, many students will be looking to see their families during their break from their studies. This offer will make it easy for those on a budget to reach home.
How to sign up
According to its website, Frontier said the following to take advantage of the offering:
“Simply select a flight on a date that is included in Students Fly Free**, sign up for the Discount Den travel club, and utilize the promo code FLYFREE on FlyFrontier.com, the only channel where this offer is available.”
Altogether, there will no doubt be plenty of students looking to take on this deal this spring. Whether it is for a vacation, a family visit or a return back to college, this offering will be appreciated by several passengers. Perhaps other US airlines will also introduce creative ways to increase load capacity over the next few months.
Simple Flying reached out to Frontier Airlines for comment on its initiative. A spokesperson for the company said that this offer extends to nearly all of its destinations, giving students the most flexibility to get to where they need to go.
