TAAG Linhas Aéreas de Angola has announced nonstop flights between Luanda and Oporto for the Christmas and New Year holidays. The carrier will deploy its Boeing 777 widebody aircraft on fourteen flights.
Adding flights to Oporto
Citing a high seasonal demand, TAAG Angola announced it would connect the Angolan capital with the popular northern Portuguese city of Oporto at the end of the year. Between mid-December and early January, the carrier will fly to Oporto fourteen times with its Boeing 777 aircraft. TAAG's 777s are configured for 293 passengers, offering 4,102 seats on the route. Tickets are now available for sale.
"This initiative answers to passengers’ expectations and market demand considering December/January peak period, as TAAG will provide families and corporate segments with a direct connection to Oporto City, a key destination during the festive season."

Christmas
- Luanda - Oporto; night flight; December 15, 17, 20, and 22
- Oporto - Luanda; day flight; December 16, 18, 21, and 23
New Year
- Luanda - Oporto; night flight; January 3, 5, and 7
- Oporto - Luanda; day flight; January 4, 6, and 8
According to schedule data from Cirium, TAAG has twice daily services scheduled to Lisbon in December. All flights are operated by the carrier's two Airbus A330 aircraft wet-leased. Between the two A330s, one -200 and one -300, 517 seats are offered daily. The first flight departs Luanda at 12:40 local time and lands in Lisbon at 19:30. TAAG's second flight is an overnight flight that departs at 23:30 and arrives in Lisbon between 06:00 and 07:10, depending on the day and flight path the pilots are told to take.
Taking a look at TAAG's network
TAAG is a relatively small carrier, flying to just 27 destinations with a fleet of eleven aircraft and another five wet-leased aircraft. Most of its flights are within the African continent, but the carrier also reaches South America, the Caribbean, and Europe. The longest flight in its network is to Havana, Cuba, at 6,817 miles. Only two flights are scheduled to Havana in December.

São Paulo is the second-longest route in TAAG's network, with a distance of 4,065 miles. Currently, TAAG plans to fly to São Paulo 23 times in December. Its third-longest route is also its second-busiest, from Luanda to Aeroporto Humberto Delgado in Lisbon. As mentioned above, TAAG will fly the 3,579 miles to Lisbon twice daily.
