Portuguese flag carrier TAP Air Portugal has established a partnership with Benamôr, a historic Portuguese cosmetics and toiletries brand. The move brings the two companies together to proudly promote Portuguese products around the world through the airline's international network and domestically in Portugal.

The new partnership will see Benamôr provide toiletries for TAP Air Portugal over the coming months. The deal includes the liquid soaps available on TAP aircraft, the creams contained in the amenity and washroom kits in the airline's business class, and the bath and beauty products available in the TAP lounge at Lisbon Airport. The airline expressed its excitement for the product launch and reaffirmed its commitment to promoting Portuguese products worldwide:

"With this partnership, TAP not only provides its customers with high-quality Portuguese products, but also fulfils its role of promoting the best Portuguese brands and products internationally."

The new products will also feature in TAP Air Portugal's Premium Lounge at Lisbon's Humberto Delgado Airport. The space only recently reopened on December 18th after extensive renovations. The refresh allows up to 320 passengers to relax in the newly expanded seating areas that feature a range of plants and open spaces with bright colors. The 9,150 sq ft space also offers a place for dining, having resumed serving hot dishes along with snacks and cold dishes, all featuring a Portuguese flair.

TAP's investment in lounges and amenity kits is the latest step in the airline's rejuvenation as it seeks to build customer satisfaction and comfort. The carrier's business class product is also getting a slight upgrade with the launch of the new soft products from Benamôr contained in the toiletry kits.

The airline will be rolling out the new product in the coming months as it restores its pre-pandemic capacity this coming year. TAP carried over half a million passengers between Brazil and Europe alone this summer and is ramping up frequencies in key markets such as the United States, Venezuela, and Brazil. TAP will offer 17 additional weekly flights to the Americas during the peak season between June and September, compared to the same period in 2022.

What is Benamôr?

The brand was founded in 1925 by a mysterious apothecary who created ointments in his laboratory at Campo Grande, no. 189, in Lisbon. He developed his unique beauty recipes and prepared them by hand, mixing natural ingredients from Portuguese botany with alluring perfumes.

The products, packaged in art deco tubes, quickly became popular throughout Lisbon society and spread across Europe. Fans of the Benamôr products include Queen Amélia, Portugal's last Queen Consort, who remained loyal to the brand throughout her life.

Benamôr is responsible for some of the most famous beauty recipes in Portugal. Its first product, Créme de Rosto, remains the company's signature product with its rose extract. The company has since developed Bronzaline, Portugal's first sun protection cream, the Alantoíne hand cream, and ROUGE Benamôr, the nation's first cosmetic blush.
