Air Transat has announced plans to return to Las Vegas in November. This will be the first time that the Canadian leisure carrier has flown to Las Vegas in almost seven years – its last scheduled service was in October 2015.

Flights from Montreal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) to Las Vegas Harry Reid Airport (LAS) will begin on November 3rd. The airline will use its Airbus A321LR aircraft to operate four flights per week, with departures on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

Air Transat’s vice president of network, revenue management and pricing, Michèle Barre, said,

"Many Canadians are finally ready to take the trip they have been dreaming of over the past two years. Las Vegas represents the creation of new opportunities for both leisure and business travel.”

The flight schedule

Air Transat’s flights to Las Vegas have planned block times of five hours and 40 minutes on the outbound sector, and four hours 45 minutes on the inbound. The schedule is as follows:

Thursdays and Sundays

  • Montreal to Las Vegas – departure at 7.25 am, arrival at 10.05 am
  • Las Vegas to Montreal – departure at 11.25 am, arrival at 7.10 pm

Fridays and Mondays

  • Montreal to Las Vegas – departure at 7.55 pm, arrival at 10.25 pm
  • Las Vegas to Montreal – departure at 11.55 pm, arrival at 7.40 am (+1)

The airline’s A321LRs carry 199 passengers in a two-class configuration – 12 seats in Club Class and 187 seats in Economy Class.

Air Transat will face competition on the route from Air Canada Rouge. The flag carrier’s leisure subsidiary resumed flights between Montreal and Las Vegas in October last year following the pandemic, and now operates the route daily with its Airbus A321 aircraft.

Further expansion for Air Transat

Tapping into the rapid return of leisure travel following the pandemic, Air Transat has also announced that it will resume services from Montreal to some popular holiday destinations for Canadian travelers this winter.

Twice-weekly flights to New Orleans (MSY) will commence on November 3rd, and to Tampa (TPA) on December 23rd. Flights to Havana (HAV) will begin on December 9th, and will operate three times per week.

Air Transat’s vice president of network, revenue management and pricing added,

“With the return of direct flights to Havana, New Orleans and Tampa, we are proposing even more possibilities to explore sunny destinations. We are proud to offer our passengers a diverse flight network on four continents to not only meet, but continually exceed their expectations."

It is a busy time for Air Transat. The carrier went on to announce that its summer-seasonal service from Montreal to Los Angeles (LAX) will become year-round from this fall, each with three flights per week. The route only launched in May this year, and together with flights to San Francisco (SFO) marked the carrier’s first flights to California.

If we look at flights to Europe, Air Transat’s three-weekly summer-seasonal service from Montreal to London Gatwick (LGW) will also become year-round this winter, and the carrier’s twice-weekly flights to Marseille (MRS) will be extended to run until January 8th, 2023.
