Greenpoint Technologies has this week revealed that it has inked a deal with an undisclosed client to outfit two more Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners with VVIP interiors. This takes the total number of Dreamliners worked on by the company to nine, including the world’s first 787-9 and 787-8 VVIP aircraft.

Two more Dreamliners for Greenpoint

Well-known completions company Greenpoint Technologies has signed a contract for two more Boeing 787 Dreamliner interior completions. Working for an unnamed buyer, the company will undertake VVIP completions for two 787-9s, taking its expertise in Dreamliner completions to the next level.

Klaus Koester, CEO of Greenpoint Technologies, commented on the new contract, stating,

“It is an honor to be awarded these two V-VIP Boeing 787-9 interior completions! The power of trust influenced the client to select Greenpoint. This level of trust culminates from our V-VIP completion expertise, delivery performance, and long-standing client relationships. Our clients understand the complexity of these programs, and we value their confidence in our team to deliver aircraft on time with unmatched quality.”

Work on the two jets will begin this month at Greenpoint’s completion center at Moses Lake. The first aircraft is expected to be commissioned in 2023. Greenpoint has teased some of the high-end finishes expected inside the jets, saying it will include private first class suites, elevated ceilings and customized IFE and communications technologies.

While the specific details of the interiors have not been disclosed at this time, and may not ever come to light, the company says it will be working with the client to create interiors tailored to their lifestyles and the mission profiles of the aircraft.

The go-to 787 outfitter

Greenpoint has been undertaking VIP completions for over 30 years. Around a decade ago, it set its sights on becoming the world’s leading 787 completion center. Since then, it has delivered seven VVIP Boeing 787 interior completions, which included both the world’s first 787-8 and 787-9 VVIP aircraft.

The first 787-9 was delivered just weeks ago, in mid-December. The company completed the modifications to the aircraft an impressive eight months faster than its first 787-8 was completed. Inside, the lucky owner can enjoy state of the art systems and technology, with “private VIP areas and an expansive, multi-functional living space featuring woven fabrics, wood veneers, and intricate metallic details complemented by soft, indirect lighting.

While not all of Greenpoint’s meticulous designs make it into the public domain, those that do are simply stunning in finish. Indeed, its Ascend private jet design concept was shortlisted for The International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2021 design prize. Despite being pipped at the post by an A220 concept, the vision certainly has the wow factor built-in.

Headquartered in Bothell, Washington, Greenpoint is part of the Safran Group, and has an impressive resume of aircraft completions. As well as the 787, it has completed Head-of-State interior upgrades and refurbishments for six 747-200s, a VIP Head-of-State interior for five 747-8s and a VIP interior completion for both a 747-8 and a 777-200LR.
