Spanish low-cost carrier Vueling will cease its service between Cork Airport (ORK) in Ireland and Paris Orly Airport (ORY) in France this summer, citing capacity issues.

Capacity woes

Cork Airport has confirmed to the Irish Times that Vueling will cease its service between Cork and Paris Orly Airport on June 11 due to capacity issues in Paris Orly. Currently, Vueling operates two flights per week between Cork and Paris Orly, deploying its 220-seat Airbus A321 aircraft on these flights, according to Flightradar24.com data. In addition to the Cork-Paris route, Vueling currently has a daily service between ORY airport and Dublin (DUB).

Despite the news about Vueling’s Cork-Paris route cessation, Cork Airport will be well-connected to Paris. Starting later this month, Air France will begin offering daily flights from Cork to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), the airport said.

Meanwhile, Irish carrier Aer Lingus will operate two weekly flights to CDG airport during late September and October 2023 in order to serve rugby fans traveling to the Rugby World Cup.
