Low cost travelers will soon have more connections on Wizz Air out of the United Kingdom. Following a recent expansion out of Edinburgh, Wizz Air is set to commence flights to Russia from next month. In addition, Wizz Air is targeting a huge expansion across Europe. Let’s take a look at Wizz Air’s plans.
New flights to Russia
Wizz Air will commence flights from London Luton to Moscow- Vnukovo and St. Petersburg starting October 1st, 2019 as reported at Routes Online. Both will make use of the Airbus A321, with each flight operating once daily.
At over three hours, these flights are one of the longer ones within Europe and on Wizz Air metal; that is, until Wizz Air launches A321XLR services. Wizz Air, as a low-cost carrier, operates its aircraft in an all-economy configuration, although it does offer some seats with greater legroom.
Wizz Air expands from Poland as well
Wizz Air is also expanding their services out of Poland as per a press release from the airline. In addition to increases in services out of Gdansk, Wizz Air will also add services out of Warsaw and Krakow. Warsaw will see the following new destinations available:
Gdansk will see new service to Bari, Italy. And, Krakow will see the following new connections:
- London- Gatwick
Odessa and Vienna to also see an expansion
Odesa, Ukraine, and Vienna are also going to see an expansion of services from Wizz Air as per Routes Online reporting. Odessa will soon be connected to the following cities:
- Berlin- Schoenefeld
The new Odessa flights will commence from early November. Vienna is receiving services to a few new destinations as well including:
All of the Vienna services will commence from mid-December- just before the winter holidays.
Delayed services out of Georgia
Kutaisi, Georgia was set to receive new service on Wizz Air from December. Instead, Wizz Air is delaying the launch of several routes until July. These include flights to:
- Venice Treviso
- Karlsruhe / Baden-Baden
Pisa to Kutaisi services, however, will still commence in mid-December.
These routes display an incredible expansion from a low-cost carrier. In the past few months, Wizz Air has consistently announced additional services as they receive new Airbus aircraft. Time will only tell how much more Wizz Air can grow.
